Ajoy Gonsalves

Pre-sales Solutions Architect · Amsterdam

I'm a customer-facing, pre-sales Solutions Architect at Surfly and Webfuse in Amsterdam. My work sits between sales, product and engineering. I find out what a prospect actually needs, build the demo, proof of concept or integration that answers their technical questions, and stay on after the deal - through onboarding, escalations and expansion.

Most of that work is co-browsing and AI agents in the browser. Recent examples: a co-browse integration for a prospect's Lovable app that helped win the deal, a co-browse app inside Amazon Connect that a prospect adopted, a voice agent our sales team now demos to close deals, and the diagnosis of a customer's Electron bug that kept the account and led to an upsell.

I started on the go-to-market side. At Capptions, an EHS/ESG compliance software company, I was Director - GTM Engineering / Solutions Architecture, and taught myself to build through CS50, The Odin Project and Full Stack Open. My first big build was rebuilding Capptions.com in Next.js: 30% more lead-generation submissions, a 90% improvement in Core Web Vitals, and roughly 10x faster deploys. From there the work became customer-facing engineering - proofs of concept for prospective partners, data migrations for a government agency, and automations that kept clients unblocked while the roadmap caught up.

That background is the point, not a detour. I think about the deal as much as the code: who has to say yes, what they need to see, and what the smallest working thing is that gets them there. Put together, I'm part solutions architect, part forward deployed engineer and part product strategist - most useful where a deal depends on a technical answer nobody has built yet.

On my own time I build Spotlight, a Chrome extension for clean, focused screenshots. I'd rather ship something small and right than something big and loud. I also eat a lot of food.

The fastest way to reach me is LinkedIn. My code lives on GitHub.
